Regular Season Round 33: Iwate - Aisin AW 69-84

The most shocking disappointment of round 33 in the B3 League was a home defeat of 4th placed Iwate (20-12) by eighth ranked Aisin AW (16-12) who outscored them by 15 points 84-69. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aisin AW made 9 blocks. 26 personal fouls committed by Iwate helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: CPP) stepped up and scored 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Marcus Dove (206-85, college: OK State) chipped in 6 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Kyle Richardson (200-91, college: Portland St.) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Four Iwate players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aisin AW have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain eighth place with 16-12 record. Iwate at the other side keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost. Aisin AW are looking forward to face league's second-placed Chiba at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Iwate will play against Yamaguchi and is hoping to win this game.
