Regular Season Round 27: Toyama G. - Akita NH 99-91

Akita NH (#4) was upset in Toyama by eighth ranked Toyama G. 99-91. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Akita NH. Toyama G. players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Brice Johnson (206-94, college: UNC) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Zimbabwean-American forward Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Toyama G.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) came up with 19 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Noboru Hasegawa (173-96) added 19 points respectively for Akita NH in the defeat. Five Toyama G. and four Akita NH players scored in double figures. Toyama G. maintains eighth place with 10-17 record. Akita NH at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Toyama G. will again play against higher ranked Akita NH (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Akita NH will have a break next round.
