Regular Season Round 27: Gunma CT - Shimane SM 65-106

The game in Gunma supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Shimane SM (19-8) played at the court of 8th ranked Gunma CT (11-16). Shimane SM smashed Gunma CT 106-65 on Saturday. Shimane SM dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Gunma CT's 36. They outrebounded Gunma CT 48-27 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Shimane SM looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Gunma CT's players. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Nyika Williams (203-87, college: Pacific) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Reid Travis (203-95, college: Kentucky, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Five Shimane SM players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Kyle Barone (203-89, college: Idaho) who recorded 13 points and 6 rebounds and international guard Aki Chambers (190-90, college: UC Merced) added 10 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shimane SM moved-up to second place. Gunma CT lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with 16 games lost. Shimane SM will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gunma CT will play again against the league's second-placed Shimane SM (#2) and hope to secure a win.
