Regular Season Round 25: Tokyo Z - Kagawa FA 70-97

Leader Kagawa FA delivered the eighteenth victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked Tokyo Z (5-21) 97-70. They outrebounded Tokyo Z 37-24 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kagawa FA shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 assists for the winners and Australian forward Rhys Vague (206-96) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Kagawa FA's coach Yuichi Ishikawa felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side point guard Kotaro Hisaoka (180-97) responded with 17 points and 6 assists and American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Tokyo Z players scored in double figures. Kagawa FA (18-7) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place. Loser Tokyo Z keeps the sixth position with 21 games lost. Kagawa FA will meet Bambitious N. (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Tokyo Z will play against the league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. in Hyogo and hope to secure a win.
