Regular Season Round 22: Okayama - Yamaguchi 99-68
Date: December 25, 2021
Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Yamaguchi (6-16) was outplayed on the road by sixth ranked Okayama (15-5) 99-68 on Saturday. Okayama forced 19 Yamaguchi turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Okayama especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Chris Olivier (202-92, college: OK State) scored 28 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: FAU) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Okayama players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Nicholas Evans (210-88, college: S.Indiana) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and forward Robert Sampson (203-92, college: Georgia Tech) scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Okayama have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Yamaguchi lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
