Regular Season Round 22: Kanazawa - Aisin AW 70-94

Bottom-ranked Kanazawa (0-22) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 94-70 loss to ninth ranked Aisin AW (13-9) in Ishikawa. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa's 40. Aisin AW had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Kanazawa's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: OK State) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Serbian forward Dusan Vicentic (204-97, college: WVWC) replied with 20 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Shodai Tanaka (178-97) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Kanazawa. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aisin AW moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Saitama. Kanazawa at the other side still closes the standings. Aisin AW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kanazawa will play again at home against Aisin AW (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
