Regular Season Round 20: Niigata A. - Hiroshima D. 76-88
Date: December 18, 2021
There was no surprise when 11th ranked Niigata A. (2-18) lost at home to fifth ranked Hiroshima D. (12-8) 88-76 on Saturday. The winners were led by American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored that evening 15 points and 9 rebounds and Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five Hiroshima D. players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Niigata A.. South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: NM State) added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hiroshima D. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sea Horses M. and Akita NH. Niigata A. lost seventeenth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 18 games lost. Hiroshima D. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata A. will play again against Hiroshima D. (#5) and hope to secure a win.
