Regular Season Round 17: Nagasaki - Shinagawa 101-72

B3 League top team - Nagasaki (15-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Shinagawa (2-16) 101-72. Nagasaki made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 28 Shinagawa turnovers. Point guard Dickson Tariki (181-98) nailed 25 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and American forward Matt Bonds (196-95, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) accounted for 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Shogo Taira (170-97) came up with 19 points and 6 rebounds and forward Abu Philip (198-97) added 16 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Shinagawa in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains first place with 15-1 record. Shinagawa lost twelfth consecutive game. Shinagawa at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. Nagasaki will meet bottom-ranked Kanazawa (#15) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Shinagawa will play against Yokohama EX and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
