Regular Season Round 14: Yokohama EX - Kagoshima 59-65

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Yokohama EX (2-11) lost to sixth ranked Kagoshima (9-4) in Tokyo 59-65 on Saturday. American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-93, college: Louisiana Coll.) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Christian Cunningham (201-97, college: JSU) supported him with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Even a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds by Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (198-91, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) did not help to save the game for Yokohama EX. American Isaac Copeland (206-95, college: Nebraska) added 14 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Four Yokohama EX players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kagoshima have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 9-4 record. Loser Yokohama EX dropped to the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. Kagoshima will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Yokohama EX will play again against Kagoshima (#6) and hope to secure a win.
