Regular Season Round 10: Yamaguchi - Kanazawa 77-61

Bottom-ranked Kanazawa is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to eleventh ranked Yamaguchi (3-5) 77-61. Yamaguchi dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa's 24. American forward Robert Sampson (203-92, college: Georgia Tech) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center Nicholas Evans (210-88, college: S.Indiana) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Sampson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Yamaguchi players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Daichi Tomioka (165-95) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Shodai Tanaka (178-97) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Yamaguchi moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Aisin AW. Kanazawa at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Yamaguchi will play against Aisin AW (#10) in Aichi in the next round. Kanazawa will play on the road against Kagoshima (#8) in Renova and hopes to get finally their first victory.
