Regular Season Round 9: Fukushima - Tokyo Z 80-76

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Fukushima (5-4) defeated at home bottom-ranked Tokyo Z (0-9) 80-76 on Saturday. Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-90, college: Florida) stepped up and scored 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and American-Finnish forward Alex Murphy (206-93, college: Northeastern) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists and Spanish-Filipino guard Juan Gomez De Liano (184-99) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Fukushima and five Tokyo Z players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Fukushima moved-up to third place, which they share with Kumamoto V. Loser Tokyo Z still closes the standings with nine games lost. Fukushima will again meet at home Tokyo Z (#7) in the next round. Tokyo Z will have a break next round.
