Regular Season Round 9: Bambitious N. - Yamagata 95-98

Important game to mention about took place in Nara. Fourth ranked Yamagata (6-3) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Bambitious N. (3-6) 98-95 on Saturday evening. Yamagata shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. It was a good game for point guard Seiji Kouno (172-89) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 4 assists. American forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: UNC) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Spanish center David Doblas (208-81) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Zimbabwean-American swingman Jordache Mavunga (193, college: Indianapolis, agency: Pensack Sports) added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Bambitious N.Five Yamagata and four Bambitious N. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Yamagata moved-up to second place, which they share with Koshigaya A. and Nishinomiya S. Bambitious N. at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Yamagata will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bambitious N. will play again at home against Yamagata (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
