Regular Season Round 9: Shinshu BW - Hokkaido L. 87-84

Rather expected game in Nagano where 9th ranked Hokkaido L. (3-6) was edged by seventh ranked Shinshu BW (5-4) 87-84 on Wednesday. Shinshu BW made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Yuta Okada (189-98) who scored 26 points. American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) who recorded 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) added 23 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) respectively. Hokkaido L.'s coach Kenichi Sako tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Shinshu BW have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Hokkaido L. dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Shinshu BW will meet at home Akita NH (#7) in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play against Tochigi Brex and hope to secure a win.
