Regular Season Round 8: Kanazawa - Shizuoka 66-105

Bottom-ranked Kanazawa (0-6) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to fifth ranked Shizuoka (5-1) 105-66 on Sunday evening. Shizuoka dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Kanazawa's 34 and had 28 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Kanazawa only scored eleven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Kanazawa 42-26 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shizuoka looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Kanazawa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-96, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and Argentinian forward Alexis Elsener (195-88, agency: Interperformances) who added 21 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) during the contest. Elsener is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shizuoka players scored in double figures. Point guard Yuki Matsuya (170-98) responded with 28 points and Kotaro Suda (184-95) scored 12 points and 5 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shizuoka maintains fifth position with 5-1 record. Kanazawa at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost.
