Regular Season Round 5: Koshigaya A. - Kagawa FA 87-77

Leading Kagawa FA (4-2) recorded its second loss in Tokyo on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Koshigaya A. (3-3) 87-77. Koshigaya A. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Kagawa FA's 28. They outrebounded Kagawa FA 46-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. Koshigaya A. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: App State) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Swingman Makoto Kamata (193-0) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Koshigaya A.'s coach Sho Higashijima used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) produced 23 points and 6 assists and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Koshigaya A. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Kagawa FA dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Nishinomiya S.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
