Regular Season Round 5: Ibaraki R. - Tochigi Brex 66-88

Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Tochigi Brex (2-3) outplayed bottom-ranked Ibaraki R. (0-5) in Mito 88-66 on Saturday. Tochigi Brex dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Ibaraki R.'s 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Tongan-New Zealand Isaac Fotu (203-93, college: Hawaii) nailed 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American power forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 21 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) added 17 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) respectively for Ibaraki R. in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tochigi Brex moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 8 other teams. Newly promoted Ibaraki R. still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Toyama G.. Tochigi Brex will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ibaraki R. will play again against Tochigi Brex (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
