Regular Season Round 4: Toyoda - Kagoshima 66-89

Everything could happen in Aichi at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Kagoshima and 10th ranked Toyoda had identical 1-2 record. But Toyoda was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Renova 89-66 on Sunday night. Kagoshima forced 24 Toyoda turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated also this game. The winners were led by forward Kaleb Bishop (203-97, college: FDU) who scored that evening 19 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-93, college: Louisiana Coll.) supported him with 18 points and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 22 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists by center CJ Gettys (213-94, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) did not help to save the game for Toyoda. Power forward Jalen Billups (200-92, college: NKU, agency: BIG) added 10 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kagoshima (2-2) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Tokyo HT and Gifu. Toyoda lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with Yamaguchi. Kagoshima will meet higher ranked Okayama (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Toyoda will play against the league's second-placed Nagasaki (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
