Kanazawa was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Chris Olivier (202-92, college: OK State) stepped up and scored 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and Canadian forward Erik Nissen (206-95, college: Acadia) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Iwate players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Iwate. They maintain fifth place with 25-13 record. Kanazawa lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 29 games lost. Iwate will face Toyoda Gosei (#6) in Aichi in the next round. Kanazawa will play on the road against the league's leader Aisin AW in Aichi and hope to win that game.
