Ibaraki rallied past Saga to take 1-0 lead. Ibaraki R. made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) nailed 31 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) accounted for 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-90) came up with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Argentinian Marcos Mata (200-86) added 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Saga B. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games.
