Regular Season Round 44: Shimane SM - Shinshu BW 70-60

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Shinshu BW (16-28) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Shimane Magic (17-28) 70-60 on Sunday. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Perrin Buford (198-94, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Hiromu Kitagawa (182-91) who added 11 points during the contest. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU, agency: Wasserman) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shimane Magic moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Shinshu BW keeps the sixth position with 28 games lost. Shimane Magic will face Kyoto H. (#8) on the road in the next round. Shinshu BW will play against the league's leader Ryukyu GK and hope to win that game.
