Regular Season Round 35: Niigata A. - Kawasaki BT 74-80

Very expected game when 9th ranked Niigata A. (9-26) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Toshiba Thunders (24-12) 80-74 on Wednesday. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Spanish Pablo Aguilar (203-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Four Toshiba Thunders players scored in double figures. Toshiba Thunders' coach Kenji Sato used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) added 22 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Toshiba Thunders have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains fifth place with 24-12 record. Niigata A. lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 26 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Hokkaido L. (#10) in Saporro in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Niigata A. will play on the road against Dragonflies in Hiroshima and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
