Regular Season Round 35: Shimane SM - Shiga L-Stars 77-78

The biggest surprise of round 35 in B1 League was guest Shiga L-Stars' (13-22) road victory over 5th ranked Shimane Magic (12-23) 78-77 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shimane Magic. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Jonathan Octeus (193-91, college: Purdue) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. DeMon Brooks (202-92, college: Davidson) produced 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Perrin Buford (198-94, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shinshu BW. Shimane Magic at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 23 games lost. They share it with Kyoto H. and Yokohama BC. Shiga L-Stars is looking forward to face league's leader Ryukyu GK in Okinawa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shimane Magic will play on the road against Yokohama BC (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
