Very expected game in Nagoya where 9th ranked Niigata A. (9-22) was defeated by third ranked Diamond Dolphins (18-13) 79-62 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Shuto Ando (189-94) helped adding 14 points. Five Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-North Macedonian power forward Richard Hendrix (203-86, college: Alabama) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and Hungarian-American Rosco Allen (208-93, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Diamond Dolphins maintains third place with 18-13 record having five points less than leader Tochigi B., which they share with Alvark T. Niigata A. lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with 22 games lost. Diamond Dolphins will face again Niigata A. (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
