Regular Season Round 32: Fukuoka R. - Gunma 76-87

An interesting game for Gunma (30-2) which played road game in Fukuoka against 3rd ranked Rizing (17-15). First ranked Gunma managed to get a 11-point victory 87-76. Gunma shot 38 for 52 from the free-throw line, while Rizing only scored twenty points from the stripe. The winners were led by American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-90, college: Miami, FL) who scored that evening 25 points and naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) supported him with 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 18 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) did not help to save the game for Rizing. His fellow American import forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gunma have an impressive 28-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 30-2 record. Loser Rizing keeps the third place with 15 games lost. Gunma will meet Aomori W. (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Rizing will play against Orange Vikings (#7) in Matsuyama and hope to secure a win.
