Regular Season Round 28: FE Nagoya - Sendai 89ers 76-70
Date: January 3, 2021
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Nagoya. Third ranked FE Nagoya faced one of their biggest challengers Sendai 89ers. Host FE Nagoya (16-12) defeated guests from Sendai (17-11) 76-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sendai 89ers. The game was also dominated by American players. The winners were led by power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) supported him with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four FE Nagoya players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 20 rebounds by center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) did not help to save the game for Sendai 89ers. Swingman Le'Bryan Nash (201-92, college: OK State) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Sendai 89ers' coach Dai Oketani rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. FE Nagoya moved-up to second place, which they share with Fukuoka R. Sendai 89ers at the other side dropped to the third position with 11 games lost. FE Nagoya's next round opponent will be Fukushima (#5) on the road. Sendai 89ers will play against Rizing in Fukuoka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
