The most surprising game was a loss of top-rankedGorgan (15-2) on the court of fifth ranked Naft Abadan on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Naft Abadan 92-83 . It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Gorgan. They outrebounded Gorgan 55-37 including a 43-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naft Abadan looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international center Hamed Haddadi (218-1985, agency: BIG) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 18 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 blocks for the winners and Mehdi Hasanzadeh chipped in 19 points and 18 rebounds. American point guard Will Cherry (185-1991, college: Montana) responded with 26 points and 5 assists and the former international Arsalan Kazemi (201-1990, college: Oregon, agency: BIG) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Gorgan players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naft Abadan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Tabiat. Defending champion Gorgan still keeps top position with two games lost.
