Second Stage Round 3: Zob Ahan - Sanaye 87-86

Fourth-ranked Sanaye (3-12) was very close to win a game against Zob Ahan (13-2) in Esfahan on Monday. Zob Ahan managed to secure only one-point victory 87-86. However their fans expected easier game. 26 personal fouls committed by Sanaye helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international Arman Zangeneh (202-93, agency: BIG) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 21 rebounds. Mohmmad Ahmadi contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. Ukrainian center Kyrylo Fesenko (215-86, agency: BIG) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 21 rebounds and forward Mohammad Yazdanpanah (201-95) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Sanaye. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Zob Ahan is looking forward to face Naft Abadan (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sanaye will play against Foolad and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
