Regular Season Round 16: Ayandeh Sazan - Mahram 52-112

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Tehran: Mahram (#1) and Ayandeh Sazan (#8). Ayandeh Sazan was smashed at home by 60 points 52-112 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Mahram held Ayandeh Sazan to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Ayandeh Sazan 48-34 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mahram players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Ayandeh Sazan's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Mohsen Asgarinia who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the former international Arman Zangeneh (202-93) who added 9 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Four Mahram players scored in double figures. At the losing side Mohammad Hoseini responded with 7 points and 5 rebounds and the former international power forward Mousa Nabipour (210-83) scored 9 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Mahram (9-0) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row, which they share with Gorgan. Newly promoted Ayandeh Sazan still closes the standings with nine games lost. They share the position with Khouzestan. Mahram's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tehran Niroo Zamini.
