Regular Season Round 14: Khouzestan - Naft Abadan 63-75

Bottom-ranked Khouzestan (0-9) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to second ranked Naft Abadan (7-2) 75-63 on Wednesday evening. Naft Abadan forced 20 Khouzestan turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international center Salar Monji (203-97) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. The former international point guard Aren Davoudichegani (185-86) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Naft Abadan players scored in double figures. Naft Abadan's coach Hemad Sameri used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American point guard Reger Dowell (185-91, college: UT Arlington) produced 24 points and his fellow American import center Chris Ware (203-89, college: Indiana Tech) added 11 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. Naft Abadan maintains second position with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Mahram. Newly promoted Khouzestan still closes the standings with nine games lost.
