Regular Season Round 27: Pelita Jaya - Rans Pik 69-65
Date: March 2, 2023
Very expected game in Jakarta where 7th ranked Rans Pik (9-5) was defeated by second ranked Pelita Jaya (13-2) 69-65 on Thursday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was American swingman Dominique Sutton (193-1986, college: NCCU) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. The former international point guard Andakara Dhyaksa (173-1992) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Jamaican-American Akeem Scott (180-1983, college: High Point) who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Roscoe Smith (206-1991, college: UNLV) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Pelita Jaya have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-2 record having just one point less than leader Satria Muda. Rans Pik at the other side keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Pelita Jaya are looking forward to face Evos Bogor (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Rans Pik will play against Hangtuah (#10) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
