Everything could happen in Jiyuan at the game between two tied teams. Both third rankedHenan Phoenix and one of their biggest challengers Xiamen had identical 5-3 record. This time Henan Phoenix used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Xiamen 100-73 on Saturday night. Henan dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Xiamen 's 30. They outrebounded Xiamen 43-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Henan looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Nigerian-British center Temi Fagbenle (193-1992, college: USC) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners (made all of her ten free throws !!!). Zhou Yueming chipped in 23 points and 5 assists (perfect from downtown making all seven shots !!!). American-Jordanian guard Aisha Sheppard (175-1998, college: Virginia Tech) produced 21 points and 4 assists and American guard Jaime Nared (188-1995, college: Tennessee) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Henan Phoenix have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-3 record having just three points less than leader Guangdong. Loser Xiamen keeps the fourth place with four games lost.
