Vermilion Birds looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Henan Phoenix 's players. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Yang Liwei (175-1995) who scored 23 points and 8 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). International forward Yang Shuyu (182-2002) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Kelsey Bone (193-1991, college: Texas A&M) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Emma Cannon (188-1989, college: FSC) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
