Vermilion Birds outrebounded Henan Phoenix 34-20 including 24 on the defensive glass. American guard Aliyah Collier (183-1997, college: Clemson) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Yang Liwei (175-1995) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four Vermilion Birds players scored in double figures. Vermilion Birds' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Kelsey Bone (193-1991, college: Texas A&M) produced 22 points (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Emma Cannon (188-1989, college: FSC) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side.
