Regular Season Round 43: Xiamen - Henan 90-64

Bottom-rankedXiamen managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of nineteen consecutive losses. This time newly promoted Xiamen outleveled eighteenth-ranked Henan Phoenix 90-64 . It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 26-point difference proves that Xiamen was well-prepared to that game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Henan Phoenix 's 28. Xiamen forced 21 Henan turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for American center Brandi Harvey-Carr (193-1994, college: Pittsburgh) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Yang Mengping (166-2004) helped adding 6 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists. At the losing side center Yafei Cai (191-2001) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and guard Yangyang Tian (170-1995) scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her ten free throws !!!). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Xiamen (2-31) moved-up to eighteenth place. Henan lost their twentieth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom.
