The most exciting game of round 23 in the CBA took place in Shanghai. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Heroes (12-9) to sixth ranked Sharks (13-7) 110-108 on Sunday evening. Sharks made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Heroes helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Melo Trimble (190-1995, college: Maryland, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international center Zhelin Wang (214-1994) helped adding 26 points and 15 rebounds. The former international point guard Shiyan Gao (186-1996) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and American-Austrian swingman Sylven Landesberg (198-1990, college: Virginia, agency: BeoBasket) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Heroes players scored in double figures. Heroes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sharks have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shenzhen L. Heroes at the other side keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Sharks is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Rockets (#20) in Ningbo in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Heroes will have a break next round.
