Very expected game in Shanghai where 11th ranked Eagles (10-10) were defeated by seventh ranked Sharks (12-7) 96-91 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sharks made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international center Zhelin Wang (214-1994) had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Melo Trimble (190-1995, college: Maryland, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 29 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists (made all of his seven free throws) during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Eugene German (183-1997, college: NIU) responded with 30 points and 6 assists and Ruize Wang (197-1995) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Sharks moved-up to sixth place. Loser Eagles dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. They share it with Xinjiang FT. Sharks will meet at home Heroes (#7) in the next round. Eagles will play against Flying Tigers (#13) in Urumqi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
