Regular Season Round 16: Xinjiang FT - Ningbo R. 102-85
Date: December 19, 2022
Bottom-ranked Rockets (0-15) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 15th consecutive match to fifteenth ranked Flying Tigers (7-8) 102-85. Flying Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. The winners were led by Senegalese center Tacko Fall (231-1995, college: UCF) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and the former international Abudurexiti Abudushalamu (203-1996) supported him with 9 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Even a double-double of 21 points, 9 rebounds and 13 assists by American point guard Brandon Taylor (178-1994, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Rockets. Center Honglin Qu (207-2002) added 21 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Flying Tigers maintains fifteenth position with 7-8 record. Newly promoted Rockets still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Flying Tigers will play against higher ranked Heroes (#4) in Jinan in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rockets will play at home against Aviators (#10) and hope to get finally their first victory.
