Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Heroes (7-4) outplayed 19th ranked Sturgeons (1-10) in Jinjiang 102-70 on Saturday. Heroes dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Sturgeons' 38. Heroes forced 24 Sturgeons turnovers and outrebounded them 47-36 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Hanlin Tao (208-1991) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (186-1985, college: WSU) accounted for 20 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Australian-South Sudanese center Thon Maker (216-1997) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Yiyang Li (181-1998) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for Sturgeons in the defeat. Five Heroes and four Sturgeons players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Heroes moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. and Jilin NE T. Sturgeons lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the nineteenth position with ten games lost. Heroes will meet Long-Lions (#16) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Sturgeons will play against Jilin Tigers in Changchun and hope to win that game.
