Regular Season Round 8: Nanjing TX MK - Ningbo R. 107-84
Date: October 28, 2022
There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Rockets (0-9) were outleveled by seventh ranked Monkey Kings (6-3) in Jiangsu 107-84 on Friday. Monkey Kings had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by South Sudanese-Australian center Jo Lual-Acuil Jr (213-1994, college: Baylor) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard QJ Peterson (183-1994, college: VMI) supported him with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Even 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists by power forward Yuanyu Li (206-1991) did not help to save the game for Rockets. American point guard Brandon Taylor (178-1994, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) added 16 points and 4 assists for the guests. Four Monkey Kings and five Rockets players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Monkey Kings have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Shandong H. and Jiangsu D. Newly promoted Rockets still closes the standings with nine games lost. Monkey Kings will meet at home Flying Tigers (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rockets will play against Heroes (#4) in Jinan and hope to get finally their first victory.
