Not a big story in a game when 18th ranked Blue Whales (1-4) were outscored by eleventh ranked Jiangsu Dragons (3-2) in Sichuan 91-71 on Friday. Jiangsu Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Antonio Blakeney (193-1996, college: LSU) nailed 31 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and forward Zhou Zhao (198-1995) accounted for 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Jiangsu Dragons players scored in double figures. Point guard Tangwen Yuan (184-2000) came up with 11 points, 6 assists and 5 steals and American point guard Marlain Veal (175-1996, college: SE Louisiana) added 15 points respectively for Blue Whales in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Blue Whales lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the seventeenth position with four games lost. They share it with Shanghai S.. Jiangsu Dragons will meet Eagles (#16) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Blue Whales will play against Jilin Tigers in Changchun and hope to win that game.
