Regular Season Round 2: Fujian S. - Jiangsu D. 96-107

There was a surprise result when Jiangsu Dragons won against Sturgeons in Jinjiang 107-96 on Thursday. Jiangsu Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Sturgeons' 32. American guard Antonio Blakeney (193-1996, college: LSU) notched 37 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and center Quanxi Wu (211-1994) supported him with 15 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Even 29 points and 6 rebounds by American Tyrus McGee (188-1991, college: Iowa St.) did not help to save the game for Sturgeons. Australian-South Sudanese center Thon Maker (216-1997) added 13 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Jiangsu Dragons will meet at home Golden Bulls in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sturgeons will play against Jilin Tigers and hope to win that game.
