No shocking result in a game in Guangzhou where eighth ranked Long-Lions (21-14) defeated 17th ranked Sturgeons (8-27) 125-107. Long-Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Sturgeons' 52 and made 25-of-33 charity shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Long-Lions forced 19 Sturgeons turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. Sturgeons were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Israeli-American forward TJ Leaf (208-1997, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 5 assists. Taiwanese point guard Ying-Chun Chen (182-1993, college: Liberty) contributed with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 7 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Long-Lions players scored in double figures. American point guard Trae Golden (189-1991, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Network Sports International) replied with 45 points (!!!) and point guard Yiyang Li (181-1998) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Sturgeons. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Long-Lions maintains eighth position with 21-14 record. Sturgeons lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth place with 27 games lost. Long-Lions will play against higher ranked Aviators (#5) in Shenzhen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sturgeons will play on the road against Heroes (#11) in Jinan and hope to get back on the winning track.
