We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Sichuan where 15th ranked Eagles (8-16) were defeated by sixteenth ranked Blue Whales (8-16) 98-87 on Wednesday. Blue Whales outrebounded Eagles 50-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 19 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international point guard Shuo Han (197-86) who added 27 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. At the losing side American guard Dezmine Wells (196-92, college: Maryland) responded with 28 points and Taiwanese point guard Wei-Han Lin (179-90) scored 23 points and 5 assists. Five Blue Whales and four Eagles players scored in double figures. Eagles' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Blue Whales moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Qingdao E. Blue Whales will meet higher ranked Ducks (#9) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Eagles will play against Sturgeons (#17) in Jinjiang and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
