Rather expected game when 7th ranked Indonesian Louvre S. (1-11) lost to fifth ranked Filipino Valientes (6-6) in Zamboanga City 69-83. Valientes dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Louvre S.'s 30. They outrebounded Louvre S. 44-33 including 29 on the defensive glass. Valientes players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for Puerto Rican-Filipino forward Renaldo Balkman (201-1984, college: S.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Jeremy Arthur (199-1994, college: FPU) helped adding 16 points. Arthur is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Valientes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. French center Alioune Tew (204-1992, college: Niagara) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 20 rebounds and Ebrahim Enguio (185-1988) scored 17 points. Four Louvre S. players scored in double figures. Valientes maintains fifth place with 6-6 record. Louvre S. lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Tigers. Valientes will play against higher ranked HK Eastern (#3) in Hong Kong in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Louvre S. will play at home against Macau (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
