Very predictable result in Bangkok where second ranked Vietnamese Heat (5-2) defeated bottom-ranked Thailand Tigers (1-7) 89-73 on Monday. They outrebounded Tigers 48-29 including 18 on the offensive glass. Heat looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American JR Holder (198-1994, college: Jacksonville) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import power forward Jeremy Combs (201-1995, college: Texas Southern) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Heat players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jose Nouchanthavong (187, college: S.Maine) who recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Wuttipong Dasom (195-1991) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending Vietnamese champion maintains second position with 5-2 record behind leader HK Eastern, which they share with NS Matrix. Tigers lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Heat will meet Valientes (#5) in the next round. Tigers will have a break next round.
