Syria registered the first win at the 13th WABA U18 Championship. They cruised past Yemen to improve at 1-1 record. Yemen fell at 1-2 record after the loss. Mohammed Hashem provided 16 points for the winners.
Syria led from the start. They piled up a 21:11 lead after ten minutes of action. The margin just kept on growing in the second term. Syria established a 38:20 halftime advantage. Syria gave no chance for Yemen after the big break. They enjoyed a 55:37 lead heading into the fourth term and coasted to the victory at the end. Mohamad Atle had 12 points and 16 rebounds, while Ockba Baghajati (182-G-94) contributed 12 points for the winners. Eyad Hekl responded with 15 points for Yemen. Aiman Sadakah (186-F-94) posted 13 points and 12 boards in the loss.
