Aramex caught the last train to the WABA League playoffs. The Jordanian team earned the first win at the preliminary round Group A action tonight. They overcame Tilal to book the spot in the playoffs. Ayman Idais (205-C-78, agency: Court Side) posted 20 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort. Tilal remained winless at 0-4 record.
Aramex quickly surged ahead. They recorded a 24:9 lead after ten minutes. Aramex maintained the advantage throughout the second quarter. The Jordanian side built a 49:30 halftime buffer. Tilal failed to threaten the gap in the third term. Aramex entered the fourth quarter up by 28 points 74:46 and rallied to the win at the end. Fadi Al Saqa (184-G-77) had 18 points and 8 rebounds, while Ali El-Zubi (184-G-89) notched 17 points, 7 assists and 3 boards for the winning side. Michael Saplana (202-C-77) answered with 16 points for Tilal. Mamady Macalou (194-G/F-79) finished with 14 points and 9 caroms in the loss.
