WABA League: Riyadi storm past Tilal in opener

WABA League defending champions Riyadi Beirut opened 2012 campaign on a high note. They destroyed Tilal of Yemen by 78 points. Amir Saoud (188-G-91) scored 28 points and issued 10 assists to lead the winners.
Riyadi stunned their opponents in the opening frame. The reigning champions went on a 39:10 run to leave Tilal far behind. The margin just kept on growing in the upcoming quarter. Riyadi ensured a 76:35 lead at the interval. They mounted the pressure in the second half and cruised to a comprehensive win at the end. Omar El Turk (188-G-81, college: Dawson Coll.) nailed 18 points, while Mohamad Bilal Tabbara (198-F-93) and Ahmed Moneim (205-C-76) contributed 14 points each in the win. Mohammed Yaeesh (182-G-93) answered with 13 points for Tilal. Sabri Sadaqah (188-G-93) had 12 points in the loss.
