U18 WABA Championship: Lebanon hold off Yemen

Lebanon U18 - Yemen U18 80:74

Lebanon registered their second win at the U18 WABA Championship in Iran. The reigning champions edged Yemen to improve at 2-1 record. Wael Arakji notched 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the winners. Yemen fell at 1-2 record after the loss.
Lebanon and Yemen stayed close throughout the opening frame. The defending champions however eked out a 21:16 lead ten minutes into the game. Lebanon maintained the lead throughout the second term. They recorded a 38:33 halftime advantage. Yemen got within a striking distance in the third quarter. They trailed by just three points at the final intermission 55:58. But Lebanon strongly entered the fourth frame and cleared off to a safe distance. They hung on for the lead escaping with a narrow win at the end. Elie Chamoun notched 17 points, while Ali Mezher had 10 points in the victory. Abdoufattah Al-Qasi nailed 16 points, grabbed 5 boards and issued 5 assists for Yemen. Aiman Sadakah had 14 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.
