U18 WABA Championship: Syria topple Yemen in Tehran

Syria registered the second win at U18 WABA Championship in Iran. They fired past Yemen for 2-1 record. Mahmmoud Trub nailed 13 points and collected 8 rebounds to lead the winners. Yemen fell at 1-2 record after the loss.
It was a tough battle in the opening frame. The teams stayed close however Syria managed to eke out a 13:9 lead after ten minutes. They stepped on the gas in the second term. Syria cleared off and posted a 33:17 halftime advantage. Syria started to get away in the third period. They ensured a 48:26 lead with one quarter remaining. Yemen went on a desperate 20:8 run in the final minutes to come up too short of victory at the end. Mohammadali Obaysi and Mtarek Alzaim scored 9 points each for the winners. Abdullfattah Al-Qasi and Bassam Al-Sharif (94) netted 14 points apiece for Yemen.
